Terms of Service
1. The licence that governs SweeperX
SweeperX ships no custom end-user licence agreement. Your use of the app is governed by Apple’s Licensed Application End User Licence Agreement — the Standard EULA — exactly as the app itself states under Settings → Legal.

This is deliberate. Apple’s agreement already contains the warranty disclaimer and limitation of liability that apply to an app distributed through the App Store, it is reviewed by Apple, and it is well understood by the people who would ever need to read it. Writing a bespoke one would add cost and risk without adding protection for you or for us. Under that agreement we are the “Application Provider”.
2. What you are buying
SweeperX Pro is a one-time, non-consumable in-app purchase. There is no subscription, no renewal, and no expiry. Buying it once unlocks it permanently for the Apple ID that made the purchase, and it can be restored on any device signed in to that Apple ID.
The base price is $12.99 USD, sold worldwide. Apple converts that to each storefront’s local currency and applies the local tax, so the amount you actually pay depends on your App Store region. The price shown on the App Store is the authoritative one, and it includes tax.
A free tier is available without payment: 500 MB of lifetime reclaimed storage and 5 items in the Secret Space. It is not a trial. There is no countdown, no card required, and it does not expire.
3. Who sells it, and who handles refunds
Apple is the merchant of record. The transaction happens entirely on the App Store. We never see your payment details, and we receive no personal information from the purchase.
Refunds are handled by Apple, not by us. We cannot issue, approve, or decline a refund on Apple’s behalf. Request one at support.apple.com/billing.
If you are a consumer in the EU or EEA, mandatory local consumer-protection rules apply to your purchase, including the 14-day right of withdrawal. Apple’s refund process is how that right is exercised for App Store purchases.
4. Limits and safety
This section is disclosure, not a waiver. We are not asking you to sign away anything, and under Austrian and EU law we could not: liability for gross negligence or intent cannot be excluded by contract, and the EU Product Liability Directive treats the destruction or corruption of personal digital data as compensable harm. A paragraph disclaiming responsibility for data loss would be unenforceable against exactly the claim it was written to deflect.
So instead, here is precisely what the app does and does not do. Every guarantee below is a property of the shipping code, not a promise.
What SweeperX guarantees
- Nothing is deleted the moment you tap it. Selections are staged in a review bin and removed only when you confirm the batch.
- Photos and videos go to Recently Deleted, where iOS keeps them for 30 days. That is two undo steps before anything is permanent.
- Compression never deletes. A compressed copy is written first; the original is then placed in the review bin for you to confirm. If compression fails, nothing is left behind — no file, no new asset, no staged original.
- Vaulting verifies before it releases the original. The encrypted copy is written, read back, and its plaintext SHA-256 compared against the source. Only on a match does the Camera Roll original become eligible for removal. On mismatch the original is left untouched and the import is aborted.
- Compressed copies keep their identity. Creation date, GPS coordinates and the favourite flag are carried over, so nothing falls out of your Photos timeline or the Places map.
What SweeperX cannot guarantee
- Files deleted from “On My iPhone” are gone immediately. The Files app has no Recently Deleted. This is the only irreversible path in the app, and the app says so at the point of confirmation.
- If you lose both your PIN and your recovery key, your Secret Space cannot be opened — by anyone, including us. There is no account, no server and no reset. This is a consequence of encryption working correctly, not a fault, and the app requires you to acknowledge it before setup completes.
- Deleting the app deletes your Secret Space, and reinstalling will not bring it back.
- An unencrypted computer backup carries the photos but not the key. Only an encrypted backup, or your recovery key, restores access.
- “Lossless” compression means visually lossless, not bit-for-bit. Photos are re-encoded to HEIC at full pixel dimensions — nothing is downscaled or cropped — but a re-encode is not a mathematically identical file.
- Back up before a large cleanup. Ordinary advice, and it costs nothing to give.
5. Privacy
SweeperX contains no networking code, no analytics, no crash reporting and no third-party SDKs. Nothing you scan, compress, vault or delete leaves your device. The full statement, and how to verify it yourself in about thirty seconds, is in the Privacy Policy.
6. Requirements
SweeperX requires iOS 17.0 or later. Features that depend on system permissions — Photos, Contacts, Face ID — require you to grant them, and stop working if you withdraw them.
7. Changes to these terms
If these terms change, the effective date above changes with them and the revised version is published at this URL. Apple’s Standard EULA is maintained by Apple and may change independently of this page.
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by Austrian law, excluding its conflict-of-law rules and the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods.
If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory consumer-protection rules of the country where you live. Those rules apply regardless of what this page says, and where they conflict with it, they win.
